About Uriel

Uriel Villar (pronounced oo’-ri-el) is a freelance actor, performer, host, writer, and part-time teacher. She graduated from the University of the Philippines Los Baños with a degree in BS Development Communication, Major in Community Broadcasting.

 

Uriel earned her certificate in Performing Arts at the Marie Eugenie Theater of The Assumption (METTA), under the tutelage of Ms. Ana Valdes-Lim. She was cast in lead roles in various Shakespeare productions under METTA such as Ophelia in Hamlet (2018), and

Juliet in Romeo & Juliet (2019). Since 2020, some of her notable Shakespeare roles can be found online in collaboration with Theater Space. Her most recent theatre performance was in the rerun of Only We Know: From Endings to Beginnings (2024) as a resident member of Theatre 2108.

 

Apart from theatre, Uriel has also acted for commercials and film— such as Dustin Celestino’s Ang Duyan ng Magiting (2023).


Uriel’s first venture in directing was for Repertory Phillipines' Betrayal by Harold Pinter (2024), under the mentorship of Victor Lirio.
